Pool maintenance

Tip and trick for the pool this summer!

When summer finally arrives, what better than to savor hours of pleasure in its beautiful pool cold! On the other hand, having a pool brings a lot of happiness, but it also comes with its lot of maintenance.

If you have a swimming pool, you will have to do several things to maintain it well. Here are 10 tips for its maintenance and cleaning.

1. Prepare your pool for the winter

When the summer draws to a close, we must, alas, already begin to think of the winter that will soon arrive. It is important to follow certain steps to properly protect your pool. You will have to clean your pool, your filter and your skimmers. It will also be necessary to adjust your pH between 7 and 7.4, to treat the pool with a product for the winter, to close the water entrances and to install a tarpaulin which will limit the photosynthesis.

2. Put a summer cover on the pool

If you are often away or you use your pool little during the summer, it would be important to put a blanket on your pool. Thus, your pool will be protected from leaves and debris, there will be no evaporation and your pool will keep a good water temperature. An obvious tip but little used by pool owners.

3. Install an automatic control station

This control station will measure, among other things, the pH and the level of disinfectant while controlling the injection of products into the basin.

4. Clean the pool thoroughly

Clean your pool at least once a week. To do this, you must remove the leaves, insects and other waste from the water. You can use a broom, a robot or a vacuum cleaner specially designed to clean pools. There are several other cleansing tips to put in place for the pool.

5. Properly treat pool water

To do this, you will need a good filter as well as a good preventive treatment. You can choose chlorine (disinfects and kills bacteria), bromine (as effective against viruses and fungi) or active oxygen (disinfects, clarifies water and algae control).

6. Keep the pool water at a good temperature

To properly control the temperature of your pool water, you can use an electric heater. Effective in every way, it will be a good tool for a more enjoyable swim.

7. Make the necessary checks

Every two days, it will be important to check the chlorine level and pH in the pool. Adjust pH only if necessary. As long as chlorine, you can add a small amount each day.

8. Have a pool maintenance kit

This kit should contain shock treatment, 5% Algaecide, clarifier, vinyl cleaner, thermometer, test kit and chlorine.

9. Have your hair tied up while swimming

This may seem very commonplace, but if you have long hair and you lose a lot, it is good to tie your hair or wear a helmet to prevent hair spreading around the pool.

10. Remove the toys and accessories from the pool

In the evening, make it a habit to rid the pool of all the toys and bathing accessories there. This could be part of your pool cleaning routine.
