Dry your clothes faster inside
If you do not have a clothes dryer or have access to an outside clothesline, you must dry your clothes inside. In order to properly dry your laundry, there are various accessories that will be useful to you during the chore of laundry and stuffs so that your clothes dry more quickly.
We present 10 tips and tricks for drying your laundry indoors effectively.
Tips and tricks to quickly dry linen at home:
1. The clothes dryer
Practical for those who live in apartments, the dryer on foot has several ropes on which we can hang our clothes and other linens, such as towels.
As it can fold flat, it will not be too bulky once tidy. On the other hand, it is necessary to have a room with the floor space necessary to use it to its full capacity.
2. The wall hanging dryer
This type of retractable dryer can be fixed to the wall of a bathroom and is particularly useful when drying your laundry in an apartment, especially if it does not allow the use of a dryer on feet.
Most models allow to dry several small pieces of clothing or linen, and can even serve as a towel rail.
3. A clothesline for the inside
This type of clothes line can be installed anywhere in the house, in front of a window or in the bathroom. There are models stretching up to 15 meters, so it is necessary to find a location to fix the rope at both ends.
The advantage of this clothes line is that it allows to hang larger pieces of clothes and even sheets!
4. Dry clothes on clothes hangers
At home or at the hotel, it’s easy to dry clothes on hangers! Sweaters, jackets, pants or skirts can easily be donned on a hanger and then simply hang them on hooks behind the doors or on the shower curtain rod. Once dry, they will be ready to go to the wardrobe.
5. Drying your laundry flat
Some materials, such as wool, can deform when drying on hangers or dryers. It is then recommended to dry them flat. In order to avoid damaging your furniture with the moisture contained in the garment, it would be better to protect them with cotton towels or paper towels.
6. A dryer to dry your little clothes
The dry heat created by a hair dryer will be very effective in helping you dry your little clothes such as stockings and underwear. To avoid burning or damaging your clothes, hold the hairdryer at a distance of about 30 centimeters.
7. Wringing clothes for effective drying
To make your clothes dry more quickly, you have to make sure they have been drained after being washed. If you have a washing machine, it may be useful to add an extra spin cycle to remove the maximum amount of water from your laundry.
If, on the other hand, you wash your clothes by hand, you will then have to twist them well. A tip for this to be more effective is to wrap the garment in a towel:
- Spread a large towel and drop the garment
- Wrap the towel, with the garment inside, firmly
- Twist and twist the roll so created, tightening hard
The water will be transferred to the towel, allowing your clothes to dry more quickly.
If you only have a few pairs of stockings and underwear to dry, you could also put them in a salad spinner. The centrifugal force will help remove as much water from your clothes.
8. How to hang clothes for drying
To dry properly, clothing needs air and space. For this reason, it is recommended to use clothes pegs to hang them on the dryer or rope without folding them. The more the surface of the garment will be in contact with the air, the faster it will dry! Think of spacing your clothes on the dryer.
To avoid distorting your clothes, especially sweaters, sweaters and t-shirts, it is better to hang them from the bottom and not from the shoulders. For trousers, be careful to bend them with respect to the fold. It will also be easier to iron them later.
9. Drying your clothes in the freezer
The cold does not prevent the linen from drying, quite the contrary. If you have a freezer, you can use it during the laundry chore.
Simply put your clothes in a plastic bag and then put it in the freezer until the laundry is dry. All you have to do is iron it the next day to warm it up and eliminate the bad folds.
10. Watch out for moisture when drying!
Without proper ventilation in the room where you will dry your laundry, the humidity level could become problematic. In fact, moisture will lengthen the drying time, and in the long run, could also cause your health problems.
