April Fools’ Day (April 1st) is fast threatening, so we thought we sway attempt a few prank ideas for the more naughty among you (and if you’re not prone to mischief, now you’ll have some idea of what to look out for).
It’s unclear precisely where the April Fool idea began, but some people are more than glad to have the chance to perform personal pranks on their friends, family lodges or coworkers. Similar antecedent holidays can be found in Rome (the Festival of Hilaria on March 25th) and the Medieval Festival of Fools in December. Some also believe that the holiday begins from Pope Gregory XIII’s decision to replace January 1st as New Year’s Eve on the Gregorian calendar – the Julian calendar that it displaced rejoiced New Year’s day on April 1st.
