Sinusitis is never pleasant to have. You feel a pressure in the face, you have a stuffy nose, a lot of nasal discharge occurs and sometimes even a loss of smell occurs. Fortunately, there are ways to alleviate the symptoms. To help you feel better, here are 10 tips to cure and relieve your sinusitis.
1. Sleeping the raised head
To help with proper breathing and thus obtain some relief, it would be best to sleep the head slightly elevated when you have sinusitis.
2. Drink plenty of liquid
To avoid dehydration and to make the mucus more fluid, it would be good to drink plenty of water during the day.
3. Drink orange juice
Try to drink a glass of water or orange juice at least once every hour.
4. Immediately treat new symptoms
As soon as you have the common cold, take care of yourself so that it does not turn into sinusitis.
5. Carefully blow your nose to prevent sinusitis
When you blow your nose, do it gently and avoid blocking one of your nostrils.
6. Breathe steam
Take a bowl of warm water and when the steam comes off, breathe in the moisture. This will do you a lot of good, especially if you have sinusitis.
7. Use a nasal spray
To feel better, you can either use a nasal spray or an oral decongestant. Note that it is better not to use it more than a few days!
8. Gargle your mouth
If you feel the mucus come down in your mouth, you can make gargles with lukewarm water in order to avoid catching ugly sinusitis.
9. Relieve headaches
You can take aspirin or ibuprofen to relieve yourself of sinusitis. Otherwise, several over-the-counter medications relieve the symptoms of sinusitis.
10. Avoid smoking
Tobacco and smoke will give you more pain in the sinus and throat. Your throat will be much more irritated! Avoiding smoking would be a good thing to counter sinusitis, but also to spare your health in general.
